The above were the cause of 87.4 per cent, of the total deaths,
compared with 84^7 in 1906, 86'4 in 1905, 84 in 1904, 85'8 in 1903,
83^9 in 1902, and 8s3 in 1901.
Cancer.
The total number of deaths from Cancer and other malignant
diseases was 272, 93 of males and 179 of females, compared with
256 in 1906, an increase of 19, and of 5.6 compared with the
corrected decennial average.
The corrected death-rate was .86 per 1,000, compared with
'82 in 1906, 78 in 1905, 92 in 1904, and .98 in 1903.
The number of deaths and the death-rate in each sub-district
was as follows:—Clapham 71 and 1.04; Putney 24 and '79;
Streatham 90 and '91 ; Tooting 16 and .50; and Wandsworth 74
and .78.
One of the deaths occurred at one to five years, one from five
to 15 years, 158 from 25 to 65 years, and 112 over 65 years.
