There has been a slight decrease in the percentage of incorrect
diagnosis in Scarlet Fever, an increase in Diphtheria, and a
decrease in Enteric Fever, compared with the previous year,
although there has been an increase in the case of Diphtheria
compared with 1906, yet compared with 1904 and 1905, there has
, been a decrease.

In 1906, the percentage of cases of mistaken diagnosis for
the whole of London was : for Scarlet Fever 5'2, compared with
5'4 in 1905; for Diphtheria i8'3, compared with i7'2; and for
Enteric Fever 33.7, compared with 29.6.
Cerebro-Spinal Fever.
Three cases of Cerebro-spinal Fever were notified during the
year, two from Streatham, and one from Wandsworth. One ot
the cases from Streatham was notified from the Evelina Hospital
and died there. Post-mortem examination showed that the death
was due to Posterior Basic and not to Cerebro-spinal Meningitis.
The other case in Streatham proved to be a case of Pneumonia
and recovered.
The third case, notified from Wandsworth, died, but further
examination showed that death in this case also was due to Basic
