Report of the Medical Officer of Health.
The disease was not confined to any particular part of the
sub-district, nor to any school in particular, although school infection
was an important factor in the spread.
The following Table shows the number of cases notified in
each sub-district during each month of the year 1907, and for the
whole year.

The death-rate per 1,000 was only .06, compared with .06 in
1906, and .09 in 1905, while for the whole of London the rate was
.13, compared with .11 in 1906, and .09 in 1905.
Scarlet Fever and Schools.
The next Table shows the number of cases of Scarlet Fever
for each month of the year among children in attendance at
elementary and other schools for each sub-district, also the number
for the whole Borough, the number of cases among persons
not at school, the number attending schools outside the Borough,
as well as the number of cases in which, as far as could be ascertained,
the diagnosis of Scarlet Fever was incorrect.
