Report of the Medical Officer of Health.
In my opinion it should be made compulsory for the exact
nature and composition (including the proportion of ingredients)
to be clearly printed on the containing wrapper.
Only in one instance has it been necessary to issue a summons
against a milk vendor for refusing to sell a sample to the
Inspector on demand.
In conclusion, I am pleased to be able to report that the whole
of the work of the department was carried out by the Inspectors
and the Clerical Staff to my entire satisfaction.
I have the honour to be,
Mr. Mayor and Gentlemen,
Your obedient Servant,
P. CALDWELL SMITH,
Medical Officer of Health.
