The death-rate per 1,000 living was only .06, compared with
'09 in 1905, '05 in 1904, while for all London the rate was .11,
compared with .09 in 1905, and .08 in 1904.
The Chart shows that there was only one week during the
year when the number of notifications exceeded 30, that being
the week ending the 3rd March. This was due to the number of
cases in one house in Balham, previously mentioned in this
Report.
The smallest number of notifications was received in the
first week of July, when only nine cases were notified.
Of the total number of cases notified, viz.:—1,069, eight or
.7 per cent., were under one year, compared with 12 or .8 per
cent. in 1905, 264 or 24 per cent. from one to five years, compared
with 357 or 23.9 per cent., 621 or 59 per cent. from five to
15 years, compared with 937 or 62.7, 127 or 17.7 per cent. from
15 to 25 years, compared with 129 or 8.6 per cent., and 49 or 4.6
per cent. from 25 to 65 years, compared with 59 or 4.0 per cent.
Compared with 1905 there has been a decided decrease in the
percentage at school age, from five to 15 years, and an increase
at all ages above 15 years.
