Report of the Medical Officer of Health.
One of the cases in the foregoing list was of great importance,
viz., the case against the London and South Western Railway
Company for failing to give notice under the by-laws of the intention
to fix new water-closets at Earlsfield station. The magistrate at the
South Western Police Court convicted the defendants, but the solicitor
for the railway company asked for a case to be stated. The appeal
was henrd in the High Court and the judges of that court upheld the
decision of the magistrate and dismissed the appeal with costs.
