There has been a considerable decrease in the rate in Clapham
and Tooting, a slight decrease in Streatham and Wandsworth, and a
slight increase in Putney, compared with the previous year.
Tubercular Diseases.
The total number of deaths from Tubercular Diseases during the
year was 360, compared with 380 in 1904, 343 in 1903, 314 in 1902,
and 388 in 1901.
266 of the deaths were caused by Phthisis Pulmonalis or Tubercular
Disease of the Lungs, 48 by Tubercular Disease of the Brain,
and 46 by other forms of Tubercular Diseases.
The number of deaths from Tubercular Disease of the Lungs and
other Tubercular Diseases and the rates per 1,000 for the whole
Borough and for the separate sub-districts are shown in the next
Table.
The corrected death-rate for Tubercular Disease of the Lungs was
.93 per 1,000, compared with 1.07 in 1904, .91 in 1903; from other
Tubercular Diseases .33, compared with .36 and .45 ; and from all
Tubercular Diseases 1.26, compared with 1.43 and 1.36.
