The number of days worked was 12,659; the cost per day of
each horse being 4s.9d
Eight horses have been sold for £51 9s. 6d., the present number
of horses being 41.
SCAVENGING.
The scavenging of the roads and the cleansing of the gullies was
carried out by the Council's employees and by hired horses and carts
and Council's horses and carts.
