Plans have been prepared by the Surveyor for the Eastern
District, making provision for twelve urinal stalls, four water closets
and three lavatory basins in the men's section, and three water closets
and two lavatory basins in the women's section, and accommodation
for attendants in both sections.
A stall urinal, having glazed stalls within an iron frame work, has
been provided at the Balham High Road end of Alderbrook
Road. The whole of the work, with the exception
of connection to drain and water supply, has been carried out by
Messrs. Finch & Co.
The total cost of the work was £84 7s. 9d.

PRIVATE DRAINS.

The following are the particulars of the private drains which have been constructed by the Council during the past year, the cost having been paid by the persons for whom the work was executed :—

In addition to the above, 10 drains, comprising 200 feet of 6-inch
pipe, have been laid under new roads at the time of, and in conjunction
with, the construction of new sewers; these are intended to drain
about 57 houses when built (the provision in many cases being for a
future system of rear drainage by combined operation). Thus an
aggregate of 8,033 feet of drains have been laid under roads and paths
in the Borough for various purposes during the year.
