100 Medical Officers of Health Annual Report.
Mortality within the sub-district Table IV. gives statistics, classified under six
age periods, of the deaths from the principal
Zymotic and Non-Zymotic Diseases, and also indicates
the number of deaths of "residents" from each of the
various diseases, occurring in local public institutions.
This Table is slightly varied from the form adopted in
previous years, this revision having been made by
direction of the Local Government Board, who have as
their object the uniform tabulation of vital statistics
throughout the country, and consequent facilities for
comparative purposes. The statistics contained in this
Table are "corrected," that is to say, the deaths of "nonresidents"
in the district have been excluded, and those
of "residents" occurring outside the district have been
included. Table V. is a new Table similarly devised by
the Local Government Board, and which gives at a glance
a summary of the public health during the last ten
years.
