of application to the staff. It is highly satisfactory to
note that this branch of the Library maintains its
usefulness.
Under the London Government Act of 1899 the
authority of the Library Commissioners ceased to exist,
and the duties devolved upon the new Borough Council
of Wandsworth, who appointed the following Divisional
Committee:—The Mayor (Councillor J. Lidiard, J.P.),
Alderman W. Dunkley, Councillors H. Bulcraig, T. E.
Comins, and J. H. Gibson, the Rev. C. P. Greene, B.A.,
Mr. C. G. Hennings, Mr. H. Morgan, and Dr. J.
Sutcliffe. At the first meeting of the Divisional Committee
the Rev. C. P. Greene was appointed Chairman.
In conclusion, the Committee have great pleasure in
bearing testimony to the efficiency of the staff and the
general satisfactory working of the Library.
On behalf of the Committee,
CHARLES P. GREENE,
Chairman.
