Death in Outing Institutions.
Forty-five of these deaths were registered, of
which 1G were males and 29 females. When
this number is added to those deaths registered within the
district, it gives a death-rate of 16 per 1,000 per annum.

General Mortality.—In the general mortality table we
have again followed the plan of former years in classifying
deaths according to sex, age, and social position. There
were 34 more deaths registered during the year than
during 1891. This increase appears to me to be very
largely accounted for by the influenza epidemic which
prevailed during the first three months of the year, and
