The total number of articles positively condemned
was 23: thus shewing that 10 per cent. of the whole
were definitely adulterated.
The following Tables show the nature and
amounts of the impurities detected:—

The above Table shows that the definite adulteration
of dairy products amounted to very nearly 13 per
cent. of the whole number of samples examined. In
addition to these, however, many other samples were
found to be of a very poor and even of a probably
diluted nature, but, as to them, it was impossible to
certify because they had not been so far tampered with
as to bring them below the limit of the poorest possible
genuine milk.
