It will be seen that the total of these deaths was 359
as compared with 286 in 1889 and 328 in 1888. If we
add these 359 to 2,213 (as given in Table II.) we arrive
at a total of 2,572 deaths which gives a death-rate of
16.9. This is no doubt too high a figure but it cannot
be further corrected owing to the impossibility of
eliminating the deaths of persons from outside the
district. The table enables us to form an approximate
idea of the use made of the institutions by each subdistrict.
