The deaths that resulted from the seven principal
epidemic and other diseases of the Zymotic class during
the past and ten preceding years, with the relative proportion
which they bore to the deaths from all causes, are
shewn in the following table; the increase and decrease
of deaths in 1889 are also compared with the annual
average number in the ten years 1879-88, raised in proportion
to increase of population:—
