Deaths and Death-rate
During the year 1888, 551 deaths, 247 of
males and 304 of females were registered in
the sub-district. These are equivalent to a death-rate
of 12.4 per thousand of the estimated population, as
compared with 13.93 in the previous year. The deathrate
for the whole of London during the same period was
18.5
