There were during the year about the average number of complaints of
nuisances, &c., made to the Inspector and myself, but many of these were
removed without the interference of the Board or Local Committee, by friendly
representations to the parties on whose premises they were known to exist.
Magisterial interference was found necessary in three instances only ; I attended
and gave evidence in two of these cases, when compulsory orders were
obtained.
Whether the sanitation carried out in this parish since 185G, has really had
the good effects I am disposed to attribute to it, will perhaps be better judged
of after a perusal of the statistical facts I shall now have the satisfaction of
offering.
