RODENT CONTROL
Surface Treatment.
During the year 1952, treatment of the Borough in accordance
with the recommendations of the Ministry of Agriculture and
Fisheries continued. Complaints received by this Department
are set out below:—

The following is a summary of the work of the rodent operative:—

Sewer Treatments.
During the year, two treatments of the Council's sewers were
carried out as follows:—
First Treatment (No. 15).
This was carried out as follows:—
Pre-Baiting 26th and27th May, 1952
Poison Baiting 28th May, 1952
Check of Poison Bait 29th May, 1952
Bait base and poison used Sausage rusk and
Zinc Phosphide
268 Manholes were baited and 244 showed " takes " of pre-bait.
The estimated kill based on " takes " of poison bait was 1,752.
Second Treatment (No. 16).
This was carried out as follows:—
Pre-Baiting 24th and 25th November, 1952
Poison Baiting 26th November, 1952
Check of Poison Bait 27th November, 1952
Bait base and poison used Bread rusk and Arsen-
ious Oxide.
271 Manholes were baited and 225 showed " takes " of pre-bait
The estimated kill based on " takes " of poison bait was 1.990.
