Visiting of cases is carried out by the Health Visitors. During the
year 33 cases of the disease were noted and 4 cases were removed
from their homes for hospital treatment. There was 1 death
from this disease in 1934.
Bacteriological Examinations.—Specimens taken by
medical practitioners are forwarded to the laboratories of the
Royal Institute of Public Health, Camberwell Research Association,
and the Lister Institute.

Isolation.—The Public Health (London) Act, 1891, Section
60, Sub-Section 4, imposes on the Sanitary Authority the duty of
making provision for the temporary housing of persons who are
compelled to leave their dwellings for the purpose of enabling
such dwellings to be disinfected by the Sanitary Authority. The
accommodation provided consists of two small dwellings of two
rooms each situated near the Town Hall furnished and fitted for
occupation at short notice. There was no occasion to use the
shelter during the year.
