I have also to thank the Matron of the Hospital for the supervision
of the nursing arrangements. The nurses selected by her
to work in the Dispensary invariably show themselves capable and
energetic and tactful in dealing with the patients.
The clerical work has again been very heavy, 724 letters and
reports having been sent out during the year. Also the keeping
of the records and drawing up of the statistics required by the
Ministry of Health, are complicated and involved, but these duties
have again been most ably and conscientiously performed by Miss
Russell. As in past years, we have been fortunate in securing the
services of Miss Fellowes to act as locum tenens during Miss Russell's
holiday.
The Dispensary is greatly indebted to the Chief Administrative
Officers, Dr. G. H. Dart, Medical Officer of Health for Hackney,
and Dr. F. D. Ross-Keyt, Medical Officer of Health for Stoke Newington,
for the interest which they have continued to show in the
Department.
In conclusion, I wish also to express my gratitude to the
Tuberculosis Dispensary Committee and the representatives of the
Boroughs of Hackney and Stoke Newington for their assistance and
support during the year.
I am, Ladies and Gentlemen,
Your obedient Servant,
F. W. HAMILTON,
Clinical Tuberculosis Officer.
