During the year, as the result of additional accommodation
being set aside in the London County Council Isolation Hospitals
for cases of Measles, it has been possible for medical practitioners
to secure removal of such cases by direct application.
At times, when the available accommodation in the hospitals
for cases of either Measles or Scarlet Fever is insufficient to permit
of the reception of all cases of those diseases, it is necessary for
application to be made to the Medical Officer of Health, who selects
those cases which in his opinion should be admitted to hospital.
