INQUESTS.
38 Inquests were held upon Deaths of Parishioners during
the year 1920.
COMMUNICABLE DISEASES AND THE MEASURES
TAKEN TO PREVENT THEIR SPREAD.
It will be seen from Table IV. that 502 Notification Certificates
of Infectious Illness were received from medical practitioners.
In all infected homes the disinfection was performed by the
Sanitary Authority. A visit was paid to every house, and it was
ascertained that cases of infectious illness occurred in 5 houses where
there were "grave" insanitary conditions. In 28 houses less
serious insanitary conditions were found.
The Infectious Sickness Rate of the Borough, excluding the
notifications from Consumption, Cerebro.Spinal Meningitis, Acute
Polio.Myelitis, Ophthalmia and Measles, so as to make the rate
comparable with that of former years, was 8.0 to each 1,000 of the
population, as against 5'4 for the preceding year. The rate in
the Northern Division was 60; while that in the Southern Division
was 91.
