INFANTILE MORTALITY.
There were 81 deaths registered of infants under 1 year of
age, as against 1,029 births; the proportion which the deaths
under 1 year of age bear to 1,000 births is, therefore, 78.7, as
against 82.7 in the preceding year.
The deaths under 1 year of age form 13.0 per cent. of the total deaths at all ages, whereas those for the preceding year formed 13.9 per cent.
