INFANTILE MORTALITY.
There were 73 deaths registered of infants under one year of
age, as against 1,033 births; the proportion which the deaths
under 1 year of age bear to 1,000 deaths is, therefore, 70.7, as
against 106.2 in the preceding year.

Table: The deaths under 1 year of age form 12.4 per cent, of the total deaths at all ages, whereas those for the preceding year formed 16.7 per cent.
