INFANTILE MORTALITY.
There were 63 deaths registered of infants under one year of
age, as against 953 births; the proportion which the deaths under
1 year of age bear to 1,000 births is, therefore, 66.1, as against 84.9
in the preceding year.
The deaths under 1 year of age form 10.6 per cent. of the total deaths of all ages, whereas those for the preceding year formed 14.1 per cent.
