INFANTILE MORTALITY.
There were 84 deaths registered of infants under one year of
age, as against 989 births; the proportion which the deaths under
1 year of age bear to 1,000 births is, therefore, 84.9, as against 98.3
in the preceding year.
The deaths under 1 year of age form 14.1 per cent. of the total deaths of all ages, whereas those for the preceding year formed 15.4 per cent.
