Infantile Mortality.—There were 132 deaths registered of infants
under one year of age, as against 1,142 births; the proportion which
the deaths under 1 year of age bear to 1,000 births is, therefore,
115.6, as against 120.3 in the preceding year.
The deaths under 1 year of age form 19'2 per cent, of the total deaths of all ages, whereas those for the preceding year formed 20'4 per cent.
