March.—The weather in March was generally cold and dull, with
frequent rain. The mean daily temperature of the air was above
its average till the 7th, and generally below on all other days.
The fall of rain was somewhat above its average.
April.—The weather in April was wet and dull till the 17th then fine
and generally warm to the end of the month. The mean daily
temperature of the air was generally below its average till the 6th,
from the 10th to the 17th, and from the 26th to the 29th, and
generally above its average on all other days. The fall of rain
was slightly in excess of average.
May.—The weather in May was generally fine, bright and pleasant.
The mean daily temperature of the air wa3 below its average
from the 4th to the 12th and from the 16th to the 18th and
generally above on all other days. The fall of rain was somewhat
below its average.
June.—The weather in June was generally mild till the 10th, dull and
cool from the 11th to the 20th and then mild and bright from
the 21st to the 30th. The mean daily temperature of the air was
below its average from the 11th to the 20th, and generally above
on all other days. The fall of rain was somewhat below its
average.
July.—The weather in July was warm and bright from the 1st to the
22nd and generally cool with frequent rain from the 23rd to the
31st. The mean daily temperature of the air was generally
above its average from the 1st to the 22nd and generally below
its average from the 23rd to the 28th. The fall of rain was
somewhat below its average.
August.—The weather in August was generally fine, warm and bright
till the 25th and mostly wet and dull from the 26th to the 31st.
The mean daily temperature of the air was generally above its
average from the 1st to the 25th and generally below from the
26th to the 31st. The fall of rain was a little below its average.
