THE MORTUARY.
During the year 49 bodies were deposited in the Public
Mortuary ; 27 of these were females and 22 were males. Postmortem
examinations were performed upon 33 of these cases, and
inquests upon 44.
SICK NURSING.
The importance of good nursing in the treatment of disease can
scarcely be exaggerated, and the educational value of a visit of a nurse
to the houpes of the poor is very great.
The nurse (Miss Norton;, whose services were secured by the
Parish in commemoration of the Jubilee of Her Majesty, has done
good work throughout the year. Her services can be obtained by
application at the Council Offices, or at her private address 57,
Pouverie Road, Stoke Newington.

INQUESTS.

The following inquests upon deaths of parishioners were held during the year :—
Suicides (i.e. one each from poisoning, cut-throat, injuries to head, and shooting, and 2 from drowning)6
