Unsatisfactory results were obtained from 2 of the samples, of egg noodles , Salmonella
montevideo and Salmonella braenderup being isolated.
The consignments were destroyed under supervision.
Ice Cream
There are 22 premises in the borough registered for the manufacture of ice cream. Inspections
were made from time to time under the Ice Cream (Heat Treatment etc.) Regulations 1959 and no
contraventions were found.

24 samples of ice cream submitted to the methylene blue reduction test gave the following results:

In the case of the unsatisfactory sample (Grade III) manufactured in the Borough, an
investigation was carried out and recommendations made. Details of the sample manufactured in
another area were referred for action to the Borough concerned.
