In conclusion I wish to recard my thanks to the Chairmen and Members of
Committees for their encouragement and support, and to the Town Clerk and other
Chief Officers of the Council for their ready assistance. My gratitude is due
to the Staff who transferred from the former metropolitan boroughs and the
County Council and to those recruited during the year for their loyal and
efficient service throughout this difficult period of early infancy of the new
Borough.
