The Parish of Lambeth contains 4,059 statute acres,
inclusive cf 79 tidal water and 39 foreshore, with an
estimated population of 296,061 persons to the middle of
the year 1896. The total estimated increase of the population
is 4,091, but the " natural increment"—i.e., the excess
of births over deaths is 4,494, so that we must assume an
exodus of 403 in excess of those who came into the Parish
during the year.
The estimated number of inhabited houses to the middle
of the year 1896 is 40,210, and the rateable value of the
Parish on April 11, 1896, was £1,680,283, an increase of
£105,030 on the previous year, as the following Table
shews:—
