the Vestry has, for the present, only furnished one set of
rooms (with chairs, table, domestic utensils, etc, and a
covering of linoleum over the floors), it being an instruction
that the other set of rooms be furnished (if required), on
the same lines. An attendant is paid 4s. per day to
look after the rooms when occupied.
From November (when the rooms were first opened) to
the end of the year 1896, two families from scarlet fever
infected houses have been admitted—in all, 5 adults and 2
children.
Izal as a liquid disinfectant and carbolic acid powder
(15 %) have been used during 1896 and have given satisfaction;
they are distributed to infected houses as required in
4-ounce bottles and 3/4-lb. perforated tins respectively.
