The 34 deaths from venereal affections (Syphilis, etc.,)
are the only other points calling for note in the class of
Zymotic Diseases.
Classes II. and III.—Parasitic and Dietetic Diseases,
40 deaths were registered in Lambeth in these classes
from Alcoholism and Delirium Tremens
Class IV,—Constitutional Diseases.
Of the total 1017 deaths under this class 269 were due
to Cancer, 470 to Phthisis, and 170 to Tubercular
Meningitis and other forms of Tuberculosis,
Class V.—Developmental Diseases.
The total number of deaths in this class was 409, consisting
of 156 from Premature Birth, 197 from Old Age,
and 56 from Atelectasis and Congenital Malformations.
Class VI.—Local Diseases.
1. Diseases of the Nervous System caused 494 deaths,
including 67 from Convulsions, 220 from Apoplexy,
Softening of Brain, etc., and 23 from Epilepsy.
2. 372 deaths were due to diseases of the Circulatory
System.
3. The diseases of the Respiratory Organs caused
851 deaths (463 from Bronchitis, and 182 from
Pneumonia), as compared with 1250 last year.
4. Diseases of the Digestive Organs caused 379 deaths,
of which 122 were due to Enteritis and Peritonitis,
100 to diseases of the Liver, and 48 to Dentition.
5. Diseases of the Urinary System caused 131 deaths.
