The Health Department has also heard of, and dealth with, the followingn on.notifiable infectious diseases during 1914:—Chicken.pox, 795; Measles,
1,531; Cancer, 66; other diseases (e.g., Mumps, Influenza, Scabies, etc.), 259,1523 primary notifications of tuberculosis (1,259 pulmonary and 273 non.pulmonary),
notified under the Tuberculosis Regulations, have also been received and dealt with during 1914.
* Plague was made compulsorily notifiable on September 19th, 1900; Cerebro.Spinal Fever (" Spotted Fever") on March 12th, 1907;
Poliomyelitis acuta on September 1st, 1911; Ophthalmia Neonatorum on March 13th, 1911 and Whooping Cough on January 1st, 1913.
N.B.—In addition to the above, Chicken.pox was compulsorily notifiable as follows:—1902 (February 7th to December 31st), 1903 (January 1st to
6th), 1904 (April 8th to November 8th), and 1911 (March 22nd to June 22nd, the numbers of cases notified being respectively 1560, 40, 556 and 238.
