The Borough Council is now responsible for the periodical
inspection of the Cowhouses, and the due enforcement of
all By-laws and Regulations, made in connection therewith,
under the Dairies, Cowsheds, and Milkshops Orders, 1885,
1886, and 1899. Such duties were carried out by the
London County Council previous to the passing of the
Local Government Act, 1899. During 1912, no action was
required to be taken before the Magistrate in regard to infringements
of By-laws.

SLAUGHTER HOUSES. There were within the Borough, at the end of 1911, 19 registered Slaughter-houses, and at the Annual Licensing of the London County Council, held on October 28th and December 12th, 1912, the licenses were all renewed as follow:—
