Immunisation against Diphtheria, Tetanus and Whooping
Cough
The scheme for immunising children against diphtheria, whooping
cough and tetanus using a triple antigen proved very successful during
1960 which was the first year of its operation. It has called for
very careful programming to fit in with other prophylactic measures
and the parents of all children in the area have been offered appointments
as soon as their children have reached the age of two months.
There is provision for following up defaulters to achieve maximum
acceptance rates. Parents have the option of taking their children
to their own family doctors for immunisation or attending at the
clinics, and the following tables show the results in Hornsey.
