for the care of the child and care in placing in the age group best fitted
for their disabilities and giving them short periods with children in their
own chronological age group. Most of the parents of these children are
very co-operative but there are a few who would withhold the child
from this treatment because of financial assessment to pay the nursery
charges.

The following table shows the attendances at individual nurseries during the year:—

Distribution of Welfare Foods
There was a decrease in the issue of nutrients during the year as compared
with 1957 which was expected owing to the increase in the price
of National Dried Milk and the restrictions on the supply of orange juice
operating during a full year.

The arrangements for issuing welfare foods were substantially the same as in the previous year.
