To the Mayor, Aldermen and Councillors of the
Borough of Hornsey.
Me. Mayor, Ladies and Gentlemen,
I have the honour to submit my Annual Report on the
health of the Borough for the year 1933.
The birth-rate of 10 85 per 1,000 of the population is the
lowest ever recorded, and is now definitely lower than the deathrate
of 12.2 per 1,000. According to the Registrar-General's
estimate, there has been a loss of population of 920 persons
between 1932 and 1933.
Infant mortality remains at the low figure of 43 2 deaths
of infants under one year of age per 1,000 infants born.
I have the honour to be,
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Your obedient servant,
R. P. GARROW,
Medical Officer of Health.
