Shoot, Cold fall Estate.—A number of complaints were
received during the latter part of the year respecting this shoot
and frequent visits were made. Co-operation between this department
and the department concerned, with regard to the treatment
of refuse here, which contained a quantity of organic matter,
resulted in the prevention of fly-breeding and the mitigation of
the nuisance complained of.
Paige's Potato Crisps.—Complaints were received in connection
with these premises. Frequent visits were made by the
Medical Officer of Health and the Chief Sanitary Inspector, and
considerable improvement followed the carrying out of suggestions
made. The first has since closed down.
Rag Flock Act, 1911 & 1928.—Four visits have been made
to upholsterers' premises where rag flock is used.
There is no rag flock manufactured in the district, the supply
being obtained from manufacturers who guarantee that it complies
with the requirements of the Act.
