Dr. Friel reports as follows regarding all cases attending
his clinic during the year: —
" The statistics of otorrhœa for the year 1927 are of children
attending the elementary schools and of children of pre-school
age sent from the Infant Welfare Centres in Hornsey. It is
desirable that the latter should be treated at the earliest opportunity
in order to avoid, as is usually possible, the development
of chronic otorrhoea.
The treatment adopted is of the same nature as has been
followed since the clinic was started.
In addition to the children suffering from otorrhoea a good
many have attended complaining of deafness. These are usually
treated with Politzerisation. If the cases are in an early stage
the results are good.
