LEGAL PROCEEDINGS.
It was found necessary to take legal proceedings during the
year in 2 cases under S. 122 of the Children's Act. In both
cases fines were imposed on the parents of the verminous
children.
Under the same section 175 preliminary and 44 statutory
notices were served on parents, and children were compulsorily
cleansed in 9 instances. In sixteen cases notices under S. 12
were served with satisfactory results.
