Notifications of Infectious Disease.— The notifications of
infectious disease received during the year shew a decrease of 101
over those of 1909, the figures being 329 and 430, and are 54 fewer
than those of 1908.
The decrease is almost a general one, only Enteric Fever shewing
an increase of cases notified. Thus, of Scarlet Fever there
were 48 fewer cases notified, of Diphtheria 46 fewer, of Erysipelas
7 fewer, and of Phthisis 6 fewer.
In the case of Enteric Fever there were 6 more cases notified than in 1909, and of the ten cases notified three proved fatal. Two of the deaths occurred outside the Borough.
