* The Registrar General since 1911 has taken the deaths from Diarrhoea and Enteritis under two years of age.
MEASLES.
Measles was much more prevalent than during the five preceding years,
especially in the Holborn Division. We received information of 202 cases in
comparison with 101 in 1911, 231 in 1910, 139 in 1909, and 86 in 1908. There
were 25 deaths or a rate of 0.52 per thousand in comparison with a decennial
rate of 0.36. Of these only 2 belonged to St. Giles and Bloomsbury and 23 to
the Holborn District.
During the year the Education Department of the London County Council excluded all the unprotected children from certain classes, in the Infants' Department, of the undermentioned schools from and up to the dates specified:—
