DEATHS
The death-rate of Islington during the past year has been 14.0
per 1,000 of the population There has been a total of 4,864 deaths
recorded in the Parish, of which 2,368 were males, and 2,496 females
Of the 4,864 total deaths registered in Islington, 1,608 occurred
in Upper Holloway, 1,623 in Islington South West, 923 in Islington
South East, and 710 in Highbury
The actual number of deaths this year is below the total number
of the previous year, and taking the increase of the population into
account, the death-rate of 14.0 per 1,000 is the lowest to be found on
our Islington records, and it is a fact worthy of remark that this
exceptionally low death-rate once more occurs in conjunction with an
exceptionally low birth-rate.
