Whooping Cough was severely epidemic throughout the parish, but was
chiefly prevalent during the first seven months of the year. The deaths registered
reached the high number of 268 as against 119, 299, and 172 in the
three previous years.
Diarrhoea caused 266 deaths, as against 162, 149, 216, 295, and 104 in
the five previous years.
The deaths occurred as usual chiefly in the months of July, August and
September, and were more generally distributed in proportion to the
population than in the case of some of the other Zymotic diseases.
To Fever generally 83 deaths were referred, as against 86, 77, and 79 in
the three previous years.
SMALL-POX EPIDEMIC.
