DEATHS.
The death-rate of the district during the past year has been 18.0
per 1000 of the population. There has been a total of 5264 deaths
recorded in the parish, of which 2591 were males and 2673 females.
Of the total deaths, 2222 cases occurred in the western, and 3012
in the eastern, division of the district.
Although the actual number of deaths this year rather exceeds the
total number of the previous year, nevertheless, taking the increase of
the population into account the death-rate remains the same.
