TO THE VESTRY OF ST. MARY, ISLINGTON.
Gentlemen,
During the quarter ending September 30th, I have examined
samples of the following articles submitted to me by your Inspectors,
viz.:—Rum, Porter, Jam, Cheese, Mustard, Cocoa, Arrowroot, Tinned
Rabbit, Gin, Oatmeal, Cayenne Pepper, Chicory, Lard, Milk, Pickles,
Flour, Black Tea, Sweets, Butter, Port Wine, Whisky, Pepper, Lemon
Juice, Coffee, Sugar, Brandy, Ale, and Bread.
The results arc given in the Tables attached.
In one case of Milk I found such adulteration as justified me in
ordering a prosecution, and a fine of £2 and 2s. costs was inflicted.
Your obedient Servant,
C. MEYMOTT TIDY.
