Lastly.-The manner in which the arduous and extra services
which devolved upon your Inspectors during the whole epidemic,
but more particularly through the earlier months of the outbreak,
have been carried out, cannot be too highly appreciated. Mr.
Collingwood's services in attending to the numberless applications
connected with almost every case of Small-pox, at the Vestry
Offices, and the enormous amount of extra time he has devoted to
the work consequent upon it, is beyond all praise. I may venture
to express a hope that his services, and those of the Sanitary
Inspectors, will receive a substantial recognition at your hands.
I have the honour, Gentlemen, to remain,
Your obedient Servant,
C. MEYMOTT TIDY,
Medical Officer of Health.
Vestry Offices,
3rd December, 1877.
