REPORT
ON THE
SANITARY CONDITION OF ST. MARY, ISLINGTON,
FOR OCTOBER, 1868.
No. CXXXVIII.
The deaths which have occurred during the four weeks of October
were 295. This is a mortality lower than the corrected mortality of
the ten previous Octobers by 16 deaths. It is satisfactory to observe
that no death is recorded from small pox, and moreover there was only
one case of, that disease met with during the month in the public
practice of the parish.
The only deseases of the zymotic class which have prevailed in
excess have been measles, erysipelas, and sorethroats. The first of
these alone has effected our mortality table. Up to the end of
the month scarlet fever had made no inroad upon our population
beyond what is always to be anticipated at this period of the year.
EDWARD BALLARD, M.D.,
Medical Officer of Health.
